4 Myths About Real Estate Agents: Debunked

Myth 1: Real Estate Agents Are Overpaid

Debunked: Real estate agents earn commissions based on the sale of a property, typically around 3-6% of the sale price. While this may seem like a substantial amount, it's important to understand that agents often work long hours, invest in marketing, and cover various expenses related to the property sale. Moreover, they may not even receive the full commission, as it's typically split between the buyer's and seller's agents. Agents' fees are also negotiable, so it's not a fixed cost.

Myth 2: Real Estate Agents Just Want to Make a Quick Sale

Debunked: While some unethical agents may prioritize their commission over their clients' best interests, the majority of real estate agents aim to build long-term relationships with their clients. Good agents strive to find properties that match their clients' needs and budgets and provide guidance throughout the entire buying or selling process.
